Right from the outset The World Famous Ashdown Mummers have never elected Officers, in Morris terms a Squire, Bagman and Forman. We have always worked on the bases of consensus, everyone agreeing to everything. This has lead to some interesting events and discussions. It may seem an ad hoc way to run an organisation, but over 25 years of continuous performances proves it works.

Although the side is loosely based in the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex we are in reality more of a travelling Morris side. Our membership is spread around the south east of England and we dance wherever someone is willing to organise an event.

As is the tradition of Morris we always make a collection that insures that the audience has "good luck and fertility" throughout the coming year. Those who wish to give the fertility a miss contribute double.
